I'M BACK WITH NEW BOOK REVIEWS

Okay, it has been six months since my last blog and I had swore to myself that I would blog at least three times a week. But, so much has happened that I had to break that promise to myself.

I have been on the road 2-3 time per week taking my mother and grandmother to Dr appointments. And kept up at night with a sick chihuahua. While this killed my writing time, it certainly helped make time for reading. I mean, what else is there to do in waiting rooms???

So, now that my excuse is out of the way, let's get started.

I have read so many books these past few months that I don't even know where to begin on reviewing them. So, I think I will just list the authors that I have come to admire and would love to promote because I think that they deserve to have their books read by everyone.

So, the first one up is Shelly Crane. All I can say is "WOW". Her books are the most amazing stories, blending the perfect amount of paranormal and romance. Her Significance series and Collide series are a must read and I am looking forward to the next books in both series. Please check out her books and I promise you will not be disappointed.

The next on the list is Addison Moore and her Celestra series. When I read the first book in this series, I just knew that I would have sleepless nights waiting for the next book. Well, apparently she doesn't sleep either because she has already added three more books to the series and I am a happy reader because of it. This is another author that you should devote a few happy reading hours to, and enjoy all her books have to offer.

In a previous blog I mentioned author Lori Pescatore and her Blend series. I have had the pleasure of reading the second book in the series and again I was overtaken by toe-tingling pleasure. Please do yourself a favor and check out her books and your toes will soon be tingling as well.

The last author I want to feature today is Jessica Verday. What can I say, but her Hollow series has everything in them that I love. Ghosts, romance, and a retelling of one of everyone's favorite classics "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Please give it up already and let her draw you into her wonderful world.

One thing I would like to mention is that when a new book comes out in a series, I always go back and reread the previous books. One thing I hate is to start a new book in a series and spend most of my time trying to remember who certain characters are from past books. And, I always love being drawn back into the world the author has created.

So, that's it for now and I hope all readers will pick up the books I have mentioned in my post. These authors certainly deserve to have you as fans. Oh, and don't forget to follow them on Twitter and other sources of social networking. They love to tease you with tidbits of upcoming books and contests.

My next blog is going to be about Indie books and what I love and hate about them.

Three Book Reviews

I have read three books this week and I want to give them a short review.

The first and second books I read were Jenny Pox and Tommy Nightmare by J. L. Bryan. Well, the weirdest thing happened while I was reading these books. When I started Jenny Pox, I was immediately hooked. My heart broke for Jenny and I was so happy to see her finally find someone that could possibly be her equal. Without giving any spoilers, I can just say that by the end of the book I had to know what happened next, so thank goodness Tommy Nightmare was just released. Well, to make my weird story short, by the end of the second book, I absolutely hated them. I told myself that I would never read the third book when it is released and I wanted to email J. L. Bryan and tell him his books sucked. But..., now that I have had a few days to digest it, I realized that the books were extremely well written. The characters were well fleshed out, and he made me care about them. AND, I can't wait for the third book to come out. Okay, I know, I told you it was weird. The only thing I can say, is that his books were so intense that I had an emotional overload that caused my circuits to jam. Once my circuits were smoothed out, they realized just how great these books really were. Now, if someone says that about your books, then you must be some kind of writer. So, J. L. Bryan, my hat is off to you for causing my breakdown.

Now, the third book I read is Human Blend by Lori Pescatore. Wow, what a difference. Not quite as intense, as the previous two books, but by far my favorite of the three. This is a "must read" for anyone who likes YA or Adult Paranormal Romance. She has certainly created a unique form of paranormal circumstances and combined it with an assortment of romantic pleasures. This book left my heart racing, my toes tingling, and one phrase on my tongue, "I want more"!!! So, Lori, please get busy. I have to have more of Laney/Julie and her new found family and friends. You are a fantastic writer, and I know that you will go far. Me and my big mouth will certainly be shouting about your new book and I wish you the best of luck.

My Baby Step Into the World of Blogging

Well, let's get this blog party started. I'm sure the first question most people will want to know, is , what the heck is a wubsmom. My answer to that would be, I'm the mother to a beautiful girl who's real name is Jessica, but has been known as Wubby J. Begonia (or Wub for short) since she was 4 years old. Her daddy came up with that nickname and it has stuck. She is now a happily married adult and we still call her Wub. We have nicknamed her husband Bub and we call them the Ubs.

Okay, enough about the Ubs for now, and something about me. I am a child of the 80's, who is too young to be old and too old to be young. So, where does that leave me?? A person that is biologically forty three years old, who physically feels ninety (sometimes) and who mentally still feels twenty five (on most days), and who has been forced into early retirement due to a health issue (will post more on that at a later time). So, now that my days are free, I have decided to renew my passion for writing.

I am, and have always been, an avid reader. I am currently a huge fan of the Young Adult Paranormal genre, with my favorite authors being Amanda Hocking (who doesn't love her), Lisa McMann, S. L. Naeole, Jessica Verday, Rachel Vincent, Zoe Winters, and yes I am even a fan of Stephanie Meyer (don't hate me). Another author, J. L. Bryan, is on my reading list and I suspect will soon be another addition to my fan list.

But now, the writing world is becoming my new love interest. I have been writing for years, but only in my mind. I never had the time to let the characters that live in my crazy mind become anything more than shades of my imaginative reality. I take that back, I have pages and pages (and pages) of plots and snippets of things written down, including several books started. I just don't have them in any kind of a book ready form. So, now is the time to let these demanding entities find their place in the written world. Heaven help us all.

I think that I will leave it at that for today. I don't want to put everything in my first blog, otherwise what will I have left to write about in my future blogs.
